What's Next? Information Gathering

Once you submit a claim, you will be assigned a dedicated Claim Representative who will make every reasonable effort to contact you within six hours. We understand that no two properties or personal items are alike, so be sure to provide as many details as you can. The more information we have about your loss, the better able we will be to adjust your claim. Although we manage thousands of claims every year, we treat each client the way we would want to be treated, with the same individualized care and attention.

Assessing the Damage: The Estimate

You may be asked to obtain a repair estimate from a local contractor. If an onsite inspection is needed, we will work with you to coordinate a time that is convenient for all. If you need assistance getting a repair estimate, we can help arrange for one of Chubb’s preferred contractor resources to provide one for you. While there are many benefits to Chubb’s preferred vendor network, the freedom to use whomever you like for repair estimates and restoration is yours. Whether you engage your preferred contractor or one of ours, we will review your estimate and come to an agreed price with the contractor. If at any time you have concerns about your estimate, we’ll work with your contractor to ensure you are fairly compensated for your covered damages. Additionally, if there are any changes to the initial scope of covered work or contractor costs - again, we'll treat you fairly.

A Return to Normalcy: Settlement and Resolution

Life doesn't slow down for anything. And when you're a Chubb policyholder, it doesn't have to. If it's determined that the covered damage to your property makes it uninhabitable or you have extensive damage to your belongings resulting from your covered loss, we can provide payment in advance to cover temporary living expenses, clothing and other immediate needs.

The time it takes us to guide you through a claim depends upon a number of factors, including how quickly we receive documentation, whether an inspection is needed to fully assess damages or if additional investigation is required.

In every instance, our goal is to keep you apprised along the way and to provide you with prompt, efficient and skilled claims service. If a claim is covered and resolved, we make every effort to issue your claim payment within 48 hours.
