How Ting works
Ting is a smart sensor and fire safety service that helps prevent electrical fires before they start. It plugs into any outlet and takes just two minutes to install. If Ting alerts you to a hazard, the Ting Fire Safety Team leads you through any repairs needed to help keep you safe.
The Ting service includes:
- Ting sensor that simply plugs into any outlet and detects hidden electrical hazards before they spark a fire.
- Ting sensor app with real-time hazard alerts.
- Fire prevention service backed by Ting’s Fire Safety Team to help guide clients through hazard remediation.
- $1,000 Ting repair credit to help cover labour repair costs for Ting-identified hazards.
Early detection prevents electrical fire hazard
A Chubb client installed the Ting sensor, and within days, the smart device identified irregular voltage signals. Although the local utility company found no problems, Ting arranged for an electrician who discovered and repaired a damaged neutral connection at the main breaker panel—a serious electrical fire risk. Thanks to early detection, the client avoided a potentially catastrophic fire and now enjoys peace of mind with Ting.
* Eligible properties are residential properties insured by Chubb in Ontario. Clients with Renters, Co-op, or Condo policies are not eligible for Ting at this time.
