Let’s go over a few key insights from our most recent claims report.
In 2023, cancer represented the lion’s share of critical illness claims at Chubb Life Hong Kong – making up 66% of all claims in the category. Meanwhile, cardiac and blood vessel disease represented 17% of critical illness claims, followed by strokes (5% of critical illness claims).
Many of us think of critical illness as a problem affecting seniors – but the data illustrates something different. In fact, over 75% of critical illness claimants at Chubb Life Hong Kong in 2023 were 60 years old or younger.
When it comes to hospitalization, trends from 2022 continued, with digestive system diseases (such as colorectal cancer) making up 36% of the total claims amount paid out in 2023. Just like in 2022, this was followed by tumours and injuries and complications, which represented 16% and 7% of the total hospitalizations claims amount, respectively.
We’re proud to share that Chubb Life Hong Kong had a 97% claims approval rate in 2023, with an average claims approval time of just six days.
