Third Party Chat Platforms

We use third parties such as chat platforms to facilitate communications between you and us on third party messaging services or applications, including WhatsApp chat and such other Third Party Chat Platforms as Chubb may enable in the future. You must only communicate with Us via WhatsApp for the purposes specified by Chubb from time to time. You must not use or attempt to use WhatsApp to:

  • corrupt, damage or interfere with any Chubb or third party data, software, hardware, website or information technology systems;
  • send any offensive, inflammatory, defamatory, fraudulent or otherwise unlawful information or information that infringes third party rights;
  • adversely affect the reputation or public image of Chubb;
  • cause annoyance or inconvenience to Chubb or any third party.

You acknowledge that Chubb can terminate your communications with Us via WhatsApp if Chubb reasonably believes that you have breached any of these terms herein.

Personal Data & Privacy: During your WhatsApp chat with a Chubb customer services representative, you may provide personal data. In providing Chubb your personal data, you give consent and authorisation to Chubb to collect, use, disclose, and/or process your personal data without further notification to you confidentially with Our affiliated companies, third party service providers, business partners and/or other parties, which may be sited outside of Hong Kong, for administering policies taken out with Us, handling claims and customer services. If you are submitting information relating to other individuals, you must ensure that they are aware of how their personal data will be handled as described above. At no point should you provide any banking or payment card information via the WhatsApp chat.

Chubb is committed to the protection of personal data you provide to Us. Our policies and procedures have been designed to ensure that your personal data is protected. Disclaimers: You acknowledge that Chubb is not responsible for the operation of the WhatsApp service and does not guarantee that you will have continuous access to WhatsApp or that it will be fault free. Chubb will not be liable in the event that WhatsApp is unavailable to you for any reason including upgrades, network outages, preventative or remedial maintenance activities. Chubb further reserves the right to suspend or terminate the availability of communications via WhatsApp at any time.

Your use of the WhatsApp chat is subject to the terms of service of the Third Party Chat Platform with whom You contract for services directly and independently from its relationship with Chubb. You must ensure that the latest available version of the eligible Third Party Chat Platform’s application is utilized to benefit from the most up-to-date security measures provided by the Third Party Chat Platform. By using WhatsApp, you agree that if there is any inconsistency between the responses or answers provided by a Chubb customer services agent during a WhatsApp chat and the actual coverage of your insurance policy, the terms and conditions of your policy contract will prevail.
