Gareth Beatson – Senior Underwriter, Waikato
Gareth joined Chubb Life in late 2024 following 10 years at Sovereign/AIA. He has over 18 years’ experience in the industry and 15 years in underwriting.
Gareth’s move to Chubb Life was driven by the people and the culture, he enjoys working for a company that supports its people to have work/home life balance.
Based in the Coromandel, when he’s not driving the kids to various sports and events he competes at a high level in Brazilian Jiu-jitsu.
Kim Gonzales – Senior Underwriter, Auckland
With over 15 years’ of experience in the industry, Kim joins Chubb Life from Partners Life where she developed a strong foundation in underwriting.
Since starting her role in late 2024, Kim has been enjoying the culture and is excited to be part of the team during a time of dynamic growth.
In her spare time Kim enjoys travelling, discovering new places to eat and retail therapy.
Lauren Vazey – Senior Underwriter, Auckland
With nine years’ experience in underwriting, Lauren joined Chubb Life from Fidelity life in late 2024.
Lauren is excited to be part of a global company with big growth ambitions and where there’s lots of development opportunities.
In her spare time she enjoys reading, volunteering at Lonely Miaow (cat rescue organisation), cooking and yoga/Pilates. She’s also just caught the hiking bug.
Russell Swney – Senior Underwriter, Hamilton
Russell joined Chubb Life in June 2025 from Sovereign/AIA, bringing with him almost 25 years’ experience in underwriting.
He’s looking forward to taking on a new challenge having spent his career with the one insurer and to getting to know his new colleagues.
In his spare time, you’ll find Russell on the sideline of his three children’s sporting endeavours. During the summer months he steps onto the pitch to umpire or score high school cricket matches.
Sine Symonds - Senior Underwriter, Auckland
Sine has been in the industry for over ten years and joins Chubb Life from Partners Life. Starting out in data entry, she progressed quickly into operations and finally into underwriting where she’s been for the past eight years.
Since joining Chubb Life in April 2025, Sine has been enjoying getting to know her new colleagues and is excited for the future of the business.
In her spare time Sine is a prolific cupcake baker and is part of local acapella choir – Sounds of the Shore. She’s been singing and playing instruments all her life and can’t imagine an existence without music.
