The informative and open dialogue will focus on key hot topics such as: the emerging interconnectivity of risk, including the links between climate change, cyberrisk and ESG; talent and diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI); and the impact of technology and data analysis. By understanding the insurance industry perspective, risk professionals will be able to better navigate their own risk environment.
Learning Objectives:
Organizations purchase insurance for a variety of reasons, but primarily to offer financial protection in the event they suffer a loss. When losses are incurred, it can be a stressful time and organizations often make crucial mistakes when communicating with their insurer or adjuster during the claims process. Specifically, there may be notice protocols and provisions outlined in the policy that must be followed to avoid compromising or eliminating coverage. Insureds may also fail to adhere to insurer consent provisions or legal counsel appointment protocols, or neglect general obligations to mitigate losses and to cooperate and answer reasonable requests from the insurer or adjuster. This session will guide attendees through the claims process and outline key tips and traps to watch for when dealing with insurers and adjusters.
