Conferences and events at AO24 to kick start the year together

Chubb’s sponsorship of the Australian Open is more than tennis. It provides a fantastic opportunity to meaningfully connect with our key broking partners from all states, product lines and segments of business.

Brokers and clients from across Australia came together over several conferences and events in and around the tennis itself, connecting with Chubb leaders, underwriters, claims and distribution teams to share ideas and opportunities for how we can grow together over 2024.

For those broking partners who joined us, the conferences and business meetings around the AO presented a fantastic opportunity to have access to a wide range of leaders across the Chubb business from Australia, the region and globally. A real kick-start to build momentum into 2024 together!

Investing in the next generation of brokers with ‘Rising Stars’ 

Chubb’s inaugural Rising Stars program also commenced with its first event in Melbourne during the Australian Open, bringing together emerging brokers with Chubb underwriters. For the pilot program 12 brokers were joined by seven Chubb underwriters for a full day of learning and development activities.

The initial feedback from the young broker talent has been extremely positive. While this pilot program was Melbourne-based only, we are planning the next cohort to be Australia-wide, with the aim to make this program position Chubb as a champion of broker development.

The next two events in this year’s pilot program will focus on understanding insurers via a ‘day in the life’ program, as well as sales effectiveness skills. Teams of brokers will also compete on a business challenge (this year it is ‘Masterpiece growth’) over the next six months, eventually pitching in a ‘Shark Tank-style’ competition to our Masterpiece team.

Driving growth with our Cornerstone partners

The CDGS is a unique event by providing direct, face-to-face access to brokers to Chubb’s executive leadership from Australia and New Zealand, board members as well as Chubb’s Regional, Commercial Overseas General and Global Division, all gathered in one location to enhance relationships with our valued Cornerstone partners. The CDGS is central to one of the Cornerstone value proposition pillars: direct and ongoing access to Chubb leadership.

The CDGS is an opportunity to provide Cornerstone directors with a global and local business update, gain feedback about what’s working well in our strategic partnership, and identify any areas for improvement. The event is also a demonstration of appreciation to our Cornerstone partners for their support and our mutual business success during the previous year.

Opportunities identified for how and where we can grow together in 2024 include in digital commercial insurance (micro-SME, Business Pack, Financial Lines) and collaborating to identify new Masterpiece target clientele and associations.
