Regional Day of Service

Since 2012, the 'Regional Day of Service (RDS)’ has been an annual event for employees in our Asia Pacific offices to engage in a diverse range of local community projects that align with Chubb's philanthropic support and initiatives.

Chubb employees across 14 countries and territories, including Singapore, participate in community projects to increase educational opportunities for underprivileged children.

2022 RDS

Chubb continued to help low-income families supported by Beyond Social Services (Beyond). A virtual donation drive raised over S$39,000, which was used to purchase festive hampers that was distributed by staff volunteers to more than 420 families in time for the end-year holidays. Funds will also be used to provide 800 homecooked meals under the Project Masak-lah! program by Beyond. During the school holidays in late November, volunteers also organised a fun-filled science workshop for 60 primary school children supported by Beyond.

2021 RDS

Chubb continued collaborating with DBS Bank, a strategic partner and leading financial services group, to help low-income families supported by Beyond Social Services.

Employees donated to a virtual fund-raising campaign and raised over S$10,700, which was used to purchase essential food supplies requested by the families. These items were purchased from TreeDots, a social enterprise that aims to reduce food waste by improving the efficiency of food distribution through its online platform.

In addition to delivering the food items to approximately 100 families, staff volunteers also worked with DBS Bank to provide virtual financial literacy lessons for children from low-income families during school holidays. Together with DBS Bank, staff volunteers also packed and distributed 300 back-to-school care packs to underprivileged children and youth from the Ang Mo Kio neighborhood.

In support of Beyond Social Services (Beyond), the Chubb team in Singapore organised a 3-part programme titled ‘Going Beyond with Chubb’ to raise funds, distribute food and essentials and conduct financial literacy workshops for underprivileged families and children. Beyond is a charity dedicated to helping children and youths from less privileged backgrounds break away from the poverty cycle.

The Chubb team in Singapore organised an educational workshop for the children from Canossaville Children and Community Services (CCCS) to learn more about the science behind air pressure and buoyancy. CCCS is Chubb’s adopted charity between 2016 - 2019 and the centre runs an integrated pre-school and student care centre in the Aljunied-MacPherson area. Their programmes cater to both mainstream, as well as those with additional needs, giving priority to families living in lower income neighbourhoods.

Chubb in Singapore Gives Back

Driven by the spirit of Helping Hands, Loving Hearts, #ChubbSGGivesBack is an employee-led programme where like-minded colleagues come together to support social causes, organise activities to give back and make a difference in the community we live in.

International Women’s Day (IWD) 2020 - 2022: Chubb Singapore celebrated IWD by donating S$10 for each employee and/or their family and friends who pledge their support and participated in an internal photo submission activity. Donations were channelled towards various charitable causes supporting women – Association of Women for Action and Research (AWARE)’s research fund in 2020, Beyond Social Services in 2021 for retraining/upskilling of women who have lost their jobs due to COVID-19, and CARE Singapore’s Girl Power! Programme in 2022.
