THE ARTIST

Wit Pimkanchanapong

Bangkok-based artist Wit Pimkanchanapong approaches spaces, materials, and multimedia from an architectural viewpoint, allowing audiences to reflect on the uniqueness of the region or place. He transforms these elements into spaces that heighten awareness for viewers. He is particularly interested in maze systems and how they create temporary spaces for people, influencing movement, reactions, and interactions. His previous works featured in gallery spaces and temple grounds, sound and the specific people walking the mazes.

“Life Chapters takes the form of a maze, a concept I’ve been working with since 2021. I was initially inspired by the Buddhist maze ceremony I encountered near the northern border of Thailand. Mazes allow me to blend art, architecture, design, and technology to tell stories and reimagine situations from the real world. A maze is also a very literal representation of life, which isn’t linear or determined. There are many entry points and many hidden possibilities. You walk forward, encounter a dead end, things shift, and you find a new path.”

Every Action is a Legacy
