Express Send Scam Insurance is a personal cyber insurance product that secures your GCash Express Send money transfers to another GCash account for up to PHP 15,000.00 for scams if you’re tricked into transferring money to an imposter or buying from a fake seller.

You can avail only one (1) insurance cover every 30 calendar days which covers all your Express Send transactions within that period. Upon expiration of your active policy, you will be shown the Express Send Scam Insurance enrolment offer the next time you make a Send Money transaction in the GCash app.

As this is a personal cyber insurance product, you can only enroll to Express Send Scam Insurance for yourself.

Express Send Scam Insurance does not cover:

  • Transfers to the wrong GCash account.
  • Scams where you are promised money in return for up-front payments related to loans investments or task scams; or
  • Scams where you are promised a job in exchange for money.

Express Send Scam Insurance also does not cover:

  • Any claim arising from any incident prior to the start date of your insurance cover or after the cancellation; 
  • Any claim before or after the incident, if you have willfully concealed or misrepresented any material fact or circumstance concerning this insurance or provided fraudulent information to us; 
  • Any claim resulting from war, invasion, act of foreign enemy hostilities (whether war be declared or not), civil war, rebellion, revolution, insurrection or military or usurped power, nationalisation, confiscation, requisition, seizure or destruction by the government or any public authority;
  • Any claim arising directly or indirectly from, or in connection with, your employment such as any corporate related transactions or any transactions via any Business Account; 
  • Any claim resulting from gambling, lottery, contest, promotional game, or other games of chance;
  • Any claim resulting from illegal activity engaged in by the Insured whether knowingly or unknowingly;
  • Any claim arising from a Mass Cyber-attack incident where losses and/or unauthorized charges is a result of any kind of system, malware and/or data hacks and/or any losses incurred because of the theft or misuse of any data or databases under the control of financial institutions, merchants, retailers, or payment system providers; or
  • Any claim comprising consequential loss or damage as a result of the incident.

Social Engineering Exclusions

Exclusions from cover for social engineering incidents include:

  • Any advance fee fraud where you are promised employment, goods, services and/or financial gains, in return for an upfront payment including payment by GCash Express Send money transfer.

Account Takeover Exclusions

Exclusions from cover for account takeover fraud include:

  • Unauthorized transactions made on your GCash account resulting from loss or theft of your electronic device(s) connected to your GCash Account.
  • Unauthorized transactions made on your GCash account more than two (2) weeks prior to your first reporting of the incident to the relevant authorities.
  • Charges incurred by a relative or a member of your family, or by a person you authorized to use your GCash Account.
  • Any GCash Express Send transaction(s) made or authorized by you using a One-Time Password.

Online Shopping Fraud Exclusions

Exclusions from cover for online shopping fraud include:

  • Where a genuine online merchant becomes insolvent.
  • Where a genuine online merchant fails to deliver the eligible items/service.

Yes, you can cancel your policy.  To cancel your policy, please file a GCash Help Center ticket.

If you cancel your policy within 7 days after enrolling to Express Send Scam Insurance, we will refund the premium paid to your GCash account.

You will receive a COC (Confirmation of Cover) via your registered email address from us  within 24-48 hours after successful enrollment to Express Send Scam Insurance.

Fast and Easy Claims Process

To make a claim, follow these steps in your GCash app:

  • Visit the “My GInsure” tab 
  • Select your Express Send Scam Insurance policy 
  • Under “MyPolicies”, click on “Submit a claim” under the “Quick Actions” tab
  • Follow the prompts to complete your claim.
