Candace D. Cronan,

Candace D. Cronan is an attorney in the Employment Practice Group of the Florida House Counsel firm of McGuinness & Cicero.  Prior to joining Chubb's House Counsel, Ms. Cronan worked at a litigation firm in South Florida where she focused on employment defense work.

Ms. Cronan has successfully defended employers in numerous lawsuits before federal and state courts, including class and collective actions, and before government agencies such as the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC).  She has conducted training seminars on prevention of discrimination and harassment in the workplace, compliance with an EEOC Consent Decree and wage and hour compliance.  Besides her practice in employment law, Ms. Cronan previously represented various municipalities and police officers in defending complex civil rights lawsuits.

Ms. Cronan currently defends all types of employment matters, with particular emphasis on the defense of employment discrimination, wrongful termination and whistleblower claims.

Ms. Cronan graduated from the University of Tampa in 2007 with a Bachelor of Science degree in International Business and Marketing.  She received her Juris Doctor, Cum Laude, from St. Thomas University School of Law in May 2011 and was admitted to the Florida Bar in 2011.  During her law school career, Ms. Cronan served as an Articles Editor for the St. Thomas Law Review.  Ms. Cronan was also a member of the Moot Court Team and elected to the Moot Court Executive Board.  While in law school, Ms. Cronan earned Book Awards for achieving the highest grades in Business Associations, Criminal Law, Florida Constitution Law and Florida Practice.  She was on the Dean's List and a recipient of the Dean's Merit Scholarship.
