May 2020

From electricians and plumbers to landscapers and HVAC contractors – the risks artisan contractors face is as broad as the services they provide. Whether specializing in the repair of home appliances or installing air conditioning units, artisan contractors need an insurance solution that can properly address the unique risks they face daily.

That’s where Chubb’s business owner's policy (Chubb BOP) comes in.  Chubb offers a robust solution crafted to meet the needs of artisan contractors.  Chubb BOP coverage highlights include:

  1. Installation – Any Job Site and In-Transit
Chubb will cover the direct physical loss or damage to a business’ personal property that is at the job site, temporarily being warehoused, or in-transit while awaiting installation or acceptance of the buyer.
  2. Utility Services – Business Income and Extra Expense
Chubb covers the loss of business income sustained and extra expenses incurred due to the suspension of an insured’s operation during a period of restoration. Coverage applies to suspension caused by interruption of water supply, communication supply, or power supply services caused by direct physical loss or damage by a covered cause of loss.
  3. Extra Rental Expense Contractors Equipment coverage
Chubb will cover the actual extra rental expense the insured incurs due to the necessary suspension of operations during the period of restoration caused by a physical loss or damage to the contractor’s equipment.
  4. Employment Related Practices Liability - Third Party Coverage
Chubb will cover the amount for which the insured becomes legally obligated to pay for damages resulting from a wrongful act as defined in the policy.  This includes coverage for a claim or suit made by a third-party (i.e. customer, vendor, etc.).
