Russell Bundschuh is Senior Vice President, Chubb Group and President, Chubb Life. Mr. Bundschuh has executive responsibility for the company’s Asia-focused international life insurance and global life reinsurance operations. Chubb Life sells a broad range of protection, savings and investment products to customers in countries throughout Asia, Latin America and the Middle East. Chubb Life distributes its offerings through a variety of distribution channels including agency, bancassurance, worksite marketing, brokers and telemarketing through affinity groups. Mr. Bundschuh is also responsible for Chubb Tempest Re Life, which supports the company’s international life insurance operations, while managing an existing book of reinsurance covering primary life insurers around the globe.
Mr. Bundschuh has more than 25 years of experience in insurance and management consulting. Prior to ACE’s acquisition of Chubb in January 2016, Mr. Bundschuh was President of ACE Life, a position he held since joining the company in November 2010. He was appointed Senior Vice President, ACE Group, in March 2014.
Before joining ACE, Mr. Bundschuh was Executive Vice President and CEO of the Asia sub-region for New York Life’s international business. From 2007 to 2009, he served as Chief Operating Officer for New York Life International, responsible for several functions across nine countries in Asia and Latin America. He joined New York Life in 2004 as First Vice President of Corporate Development. Previously, Mr. Bundschuh had a 10-year career with McKinsey & Company where he was a Partner and leader of the firm’s Services Strategy and Operations practice. Prior to McKinsey, he spent four years with IBM’s Marketing & Sales division in New York, where he sold and supported large systems implementations to insurance clients.
Mr. Bundschuh holds undergraduate degrees in Geophysical Engineering and Electrical Engineering from the Colorado School of Mines, and an MBA in Finance from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He also holds the Fellow Life Management Institute (FLMI) professional designation.
