Regulatory Issues:

Insurance is a regulated industry in jurisdictions around the world, and while in-path insurance transactions can take many forms, it is always Chubb’s intent to structure them in compliance with applicable insurance laws and regulations. In that regard, licensing requirements will need to be addressed and a licensed insurance intermediary must be involved to make the formal offers of insurance. In some cases, the partner looking to generate a revenue stream can become licensed as an insurance intermediary, and after securing appropriate licenses, receive commissions on the insurance business placed.  A third party insurance agency can be engaged to handle the transactions as well. Licensing options can be assessed as a part of the collaborative effort that will take place to structure and tailor unique in-path insurance transactions.
