Steven Fyfe is retiring from his role as Chair of the Chubb Life Board in mid-2023.
Formerly Chief Financial Officer of the National Bank for eight years and Deputy Chief Executive of ANZ National Bank Steven has been our Board Chair since 2012 and was also appointed the Chair of OnePath after the acquisition by Cigna New Zealand
Gail Costa, Chief Executive wishes Steven farewell and she says he’s been instrumental in leading important changes in the business: “Steven has steered us very thoughtfully and carefully over the past 13 years during a period of significant change in the industry and in our business.”
“He has provided great support to me and members of the leadership team throughout this time and his integrity, intellect and eye for detail will be remembered and missed.”
The Chair elect is Paul Brock. Paul has been a member of the Board since December 2020, he is the current Chair of the Risk Committee and has previously been Chair of the Audit Committee.
Paul is a former Chief Executive of Kiwibank Group and was an integral part of the small team that established Kiwibank in 2002. He is currently Chair of the New Zealand Story Group, Chair of Foley Wines, Chair of the Massey University Business School Advisory Board and an Independent Director of Southern Sky Dairies Ltd.
Paul says, “In moving to the role of Chubb Life NZ Board Chair, I’d like to thank Steven for his leadership and significant contribution to our success. I’m looking forward to the opportunities we have ahead of us together as we continue to grow and ensure that all New Zealanders have access to quality financial advice and insurance protection that’s right for their needs.
