Leslie Carr Assumes Responsibility for Specialty Casualty & Construction In the Southeast Region
I am pleased to announce that Leslie Carr, currently Commercial Insurance Excess Umbrella Manager for our Southeast Region, will assume additional responsibility for overseeing Specialty Casualty & Construction for the Region.
Ms. Carr is a graduate of Livingstone College and began her insurance career in 1987 as a Casualty Underwriter and progressed to a Special Accounts Senior Underwriter handling large deductible and retro programs. She relocated to the Atlanta marketplace in 2001 as a Team Leader and gained additional industry experience in her role in the facultative reinsurance market. Leslie joined Chubb in 2008 and has served in the position as Vice President, Excess Casualty for the Southeast Region.
In addition to her underwriting roles, Leslie serves as the SE Regional Connector for Chubb’s Mosaic Business Roundtable. Mosaic seeks to increase Chubb’s ability to attract, retain and foster career development of multicultural talent. Ms. Carr is also an active member of the National African American Insurance Association (NAAIA) and Atlanta Association of Insurance Professionals (AAIP). Matt Pethley Appointed Southeast Regional Manager, Chubb Environmental
We are pleased to announce that Matt Pethley has been appointed Regional Manager, Chubb Environmental, for the Southeast Region, effective January 27, 2020. In this position, Mr. Pethley will have the responsibility for the development, underwriting, and delivery of environmental risk solutions for retail-focused brokers and their clients, ranging from small to mid-size to large multinationals.
Matt joined Chubb Environmental in 2013 as part of the Southeast Region underwriting team and most recently served as Senior Underwriter for Chubb Environmental for the Midwest Region. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Architecture from the University of Illinois, Master’s degree in Architecture from the University of Oregon, and his Master’s degree in Business from Loyola University – Chicago. Prior to working at Chubb, Matt honed his craft at Home Depot Corporate and several architecture firms.

Mitch Varney Joins Major Accounts Property Team
Based in Atlanta, Mitch Varney is the newest member of the Southeast Region Major Accounts Property team and is responsible for handling both new and existing clients. Prior to joining Chubb, he worked as a property placement broker for 8 years in the New York area.

Commercial Insurance Welcomes Jack McFarland To Tampa Branch
Jack McFarland joined the Southeast Region Commercial Insurance team and will be based in Tampa. Prior to joining Chubb, he worked as a workers compensation underwriter, middle markets underwriter and various underwriting management roles.
