You will play a key role in promoting the embedding of the Risk Management Framework (RMF) across Chubb Europe improving risk management activities towards the achievement of Chubb’s regional corporate objectives.
The Risk Manager – ERM will promote functional (Claims, Finance, Actuarial, IT, etc.) first line ownership and monitoring of Chubb’s Europe risk appetite statements via the continuous development of a suitable risk reporting framework that supports risk based decision making and escalation of issues as required.
In addition, the role will lead all ERM and technical actuarial/quantitative analysis produced by the Risk Management team. This includes but is not limited to, all legal entity annual ORSA reports, stress and scenario testing, risk aggregation and accumulation monitoring analysis, Risk Management involvement in Internal Model validation and specific risk assessments.
The Risk Manager – ERM also plays a meaningful role in the delivery of the key responsibilities of the Risk Management function such as Committee and Board reporting, preparation of external submissions and Internal Model responsibilities.
The Risk Manager – ERM will report to the Head of Risk Management. Key relationships other than those within reporting lines include Capital Modelling team, Finance, Actuarial function, Compliance function, Internal Audit function, Chubb Europe Executive Directors and Chubb Limited Enterprise Risk Management Unit.
The role is based in London; however some travel may be required. The Risk Manager – ERM is supported by a pool of resources based in London and Chennai, India.
Supporting the embedding of the Chubb Europe RMF (and the underlying risk policies) across enterprise through the provision of a strong risk management framework. This will involve actively supporting the development of risk identification, assessment, evaluation and reporting processes.
Deliver improvements to the risk appetite framework e.g. the development of risk based metrics and assist senior management in understanding and controlling the risks to the business.
Develop the Risk Function’s engagement with management by supporting and developing the first line risk management activities and advise on risk and controls self-assessments (including local prudential and conduct risk requirements) and loss event reporting.
Lead all ERM and technical actuarial/quantitative analysis produced by the Risk Management team. This includes but is not limited to the following;
Lead the production of all legal entity annual ORSA reports, promoting their use in decision making by the business. Support the production of quarterly ORSA reporting to the various Committees.
Lead the development of stress and scenario testing (Including reverse stress testing) and its use in risk management and capital adequacy assessments.
Play a significant role in the alignment of the Internal model to the risk profiles of Chubb’s legal entities and the validation thereof. Supervise the internal model process, including providing input into internal model validation and calibration as required.
Support the integration of Chubb Limited’s risk aggregation and accumulation process in conjunction with Chubb Limited Enterprise Risk Unit and ensure incorporation into regular cycle of management reporting.
Lead and support on other key Risk Management pivotal initiatives as required, including but not limited to specific risk assessments and various ongoing topical risk analyses.
