Role Purpose
Work for one of the most established environmental insurers in the market. Join Chubb environmental underwriting team made of 120+ environmental specialists in 20+ countries across the World.
The Technical Underwriting Manager (TUM) is responsible to maintain underwriting discipline and technical consistency across Continental Europe (CE) Region (15 countries) to ensure the profitability and support the growth of the environmental risk line of business. You will support a team of 18 Environmental Underwriters across CE and work closely with the CE Environmental Risk Engineer. The location of the role is not restricted to Paris/France and can be another Chubb main office across CE. The position involves regular travel within Europe. You will report to the Head of Environmental Risk, CE based in Paris/France

Key Responsibilities
- Keep a unique underwriting approach across CE for the industries / projects with high risk of pollution / environmental damage
- Manage underwriting referral for these industries/projects
- Make sure that the underwriting guidelines are explained / understood and applied
- Assist and coordinate in underwriting complex insurance (multinational programs, transactional risk / M&A, construction project, volatile risk…)
- Coordinate and organise technical documentation and training in collaboration with the CE Environmental Risk Engineer
- Promote and ensure the efficient use of environmental risk engineering in collaboration with the CE Environmental Risk Engineer
- Involve on complex claims to provide environmental technical support and share experiences among the claim group as the underwriting group

Experience & Skills Required
Role Requirements:
- Significant experience in underwriting complex insurance (multinational programs, transactional risk / M&A, construction project, volatile risk…) for a wide range of industry types
- Engineering degree or Master degree in environmental sciences, earth sciences or in another environmental discipline
- Self
-motivated team player willing to work in a multinational/multicultural environment
- Effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to lead by influence is key
- Language
- Excellent English required, with at least 1 or 2 Continental Europe languages
