Richard G. Spiro

Richard G. Spiro joined The Chubb Corporation on October 1, 2008 as executive vice president and chief financial officer.

Mr. Spiro previously served as managing director and head of North America for the Financial Institutions Group for Citigroup Global Markets Inc. where he worked from 1999 to 2008.  During his tenure at Citigroup, Mr. Spiro also served as co-head of insurance and asset management investment banking.  From 1998 to 1999, Mr. Spiro was managing director and head of U.S. insurance investment banking for the Financial Services Group at Lehman Brothers.  Mr. Spiro also served at Credit Suisse First Boston from 1986 to 1998 where he was managing director and chief operating officer for the global insurance group in the Financial Institutions Group.

Mr. Spiro attended Princeton University and graduated magna cum laude in 1986 with an A.B. degree in Economics.  He is a Director of Chubb Insurance Company of Canada and Director of Chubb Insurance Company of Europe.
