Thomas F. Motamed
Vice Chairman and Chief Operating Officer The Chubb Corporation
Thomas F. Motamed is currently vice chairman and chief operating officer of The Chubb Corporation, and president and chief
operating officer of Chubb & Son. He is responsible for worldwide underwriting and field operations, strategic marketing,
operations services and corporate development.
Mr. Motamed joined Chubb in 1977 as a claims trainee in the Long Island, New York, branch. For the first ten years of his
career with the company he held various claims management positions, including managing attorney in house counsel, litigation
manager and national claim audit manager. In 1986, he transitioned to the company's field operations as claim manager in
the Downtown New York office. In 1988, Mr. Motamed became the administrative manager in the Downtown New York office and
in 1989 he was appointed the Long Island marketing manager. In 1990, Mr. Motamed was named manager of Chubb's Westchester,
NewYork, branch office and in 1993 he became the Midtown New York branch manager. Mr. Motamed was appointed the Western Zone
officer in 1995. He assumed the position of executive vice president and chief operations officer in December 1997. Mr.
Motamed was elected to his current position of vice chairman and chief operating officer in December 2002.
Mr. Motamed graduated from The Delaware Law School of Widener University in 1975 with a Juris Doctor degree. He received a
bachelor's degree in biology from Adelphi University in 1971, where he also serves as a trustee.
