Since we wrote our first insurance policy in 1882, Chubb’s philosophy in dealing with every claim has been to treat each customer
the way we would like to be treated if we had suffered the same loss - with integrity, empathy, promptness, expertise and

Our aim is to provide help and assistance when claims arise and we can pay covered claims with complete confidence as we conduct
our business within prudent financial guidelines. Our ability to pay to, or on behalf of our policyholders, receives the highest
ratings for financial strength by Moody’s, Standard & Poor’s and A.M. Best.

Our philosophy was summed up by Dean O’Hare, chairman of Chubb from 1988 to 2002:
“Some people keep their promises when they have no alternative. They sometimes make their counterpart sweat for payment, and
then pay only as little as they can get away with. Others keep their promises because they are people of integrity and it’s
the right thing to do.” This is still the Chubb belief.
