Property Surveys and Risk Assessment
- Hot Work Permit Program will help you and your contractors reduce fire potential that can arise from "hot work" activities such as welding and cutting through walls.
- Self-Inspection Programs can protect equipment against common hazards. We can review your in-place programs or help you develop one.
- Flammable Liquids require special storage and handling. Using combustible gas vapour meters, we can evaluate ventilation of hazardous vapors in addition to your storage and operating practices to assure compliance with those recommended in National Fire Protection Association standards.
- Property Conservation Policies can be developed with you for conservation of property, including management commitment, resource allocation and training requirements.
- Pre-Construction Consultations can save you money at a later date. We meet with you and your architects, engineers and planning committees to suggest the kind of protection you may want to consider prior to building.
- Sprinkler Plan Review examines your plans and existing sprinkler systems. It helps assure you of adequacy for intended or current use. We apply National Fire Protection Association standards.
- EDP Fire Protection Systems can be tested to assess risk - including sprinkler and alarm detection, transmission, signaling and reception and door fan tests for rooms protected with automatic suppression system alternatives to HALON.
- Emergency Response Preparation assists you with review and testing of your building evacuation plan and provides resources to assist in the plan development.
- Fire Protection Systems Self-Inspection Program teaches your staff how to operate, test and maintain your sprinkler systems in accordance with National Fire Protection Association standards.
- Fire Pump Performance Tests are conducted in accordance with National Fire Protection Association standards.
- Property Conservation Seminars can be designed to instruct and motivate your management and staff to identify and control exposures to fire and other hazards associated with the operations.

- Indoor Air Quality Evaluations can be conducted when health or safety problems arise in your facility. We use employee interviews, physical assessment and carbon dioxide measuring equipment to evaluate efficiency of building air systems.
- Job Site Surveys evaluate exposures to employees, subcontractors and the general public during renovations or new construction.
- Lighting Quality Surveys involve use of a photometer to measure illumination. We evaluate the amount of light in key areas, such as stairs, steps, ramps and other walkways.
- General Liability Accident Trend Analysis focuses loss prevention activities in areas where there is high claims frequency.

- Product Design & Review Committee Management considers that product quality and safety is properly considered at the design phase, where improvements and changes can be easily accommodated.
- Handling Product Complaints is a formal review of your complaint handling process and the nature of the complaints you are receiving with respect to your products. It enables your management to quickly identify and correct problems that may present a risk.
- Review of Product Warnings & Labels provides you and your staff with guidance on ANSI warning label standards. The ANSI warning label standards alert readers to potential hazards from product misuse and improper storage and suggest controls to prevent injuries to product users.

Business Continuation Planning
- Business Continuation Plans can help you ensure adequate insurance coverage, limit damage in the event of a disaster and resume business operations with minimum downtime.
- EDP Disaster Recovery Plans assists you to develop comprehensive policies and procedures and to also test these policies and procedures, helping to mitigate downtime within your computer and data processing operations in the event of a loss.
Boiler and Machinery Inspections
- Preventative Maintenance Evaluations help you to develop instructions and pre-defined logs listing timelines and recommend actions to properly maintain boilers, air conditioners and other critical equipment.
- Jurisdictional & Province Required Inspections of boilers and pressure vessels can be conducted by our inspectors to comply with provincial and jurisdictional regulations.
- Accident Investigations are conducted by Chubb Risk Consultants within 24 hours of notification of loss to help you resume operation of your business, review loss causes and recommend ways to reduce recurrence and mitigate the cost of loss.
- Physical Surveys can be conducted on your machinery and equipment to evaluate your exposures. Where identified, we develop recommendations to help you reduce the likelihood of downtime and loss.
- Infrared Thermography is used in our inspection of mechanical and electrical equipment for "hot spots" such as loose connections, faulty insulation and dust accumulation - that if left unattended can lead to electrical fires.
Risk Management Reviews
The purpose of the Risk Management reviews is to assist in the development of a focused approach to loss prevention. The review is used to develop a program effectiveness grid that is used first to establish a baseline, then set goals and objectives and evaluate progress.
The risk management review process can be applied to a number of critical areas of your business, including:
- Commercial Vehicle review assesses your existing automobile loss prevention programs, your current preventative maintenance programs, driver-hiring practices, driver training and identify areas of improvement.
- Crime Susceptibility review looks at and makes recommendations regarding your theft security measures in the areas of asset vulnerability, record-keeping, accountability, emergency procedures, incident investigation, burglar alarm systems and transit exposures.
- Network Security review looks at your network security measures in the areas of management & administration, risk assessment, and protection for internal and external schemes.

Risk Management Software Tools
To assist you with managing your risks and losses, Chubb offers a choice of risk management software tools. We will help you install the software, demonstrate its capabilities, and train the users.
- Loss History Analyzer® is a loss analysis tool. Using your loss data, you can view loss activity by department, location, type of accident and line of coverage, among other categories. You can track loss reserves, payment history and loss dollars paid over time. The software is equipped with graphing and reporting capabilities.
- PC Country Guide® provides insurance requirements, regulations and exposures in 32 countries. It is ideal for companies who already have or are expecting to have overseas operations. It also contains PC Globe® with demographics on 208 countries.
Security Evaluations
- Security Checklists have been designed for reviewing your administrative controls and aid you in the review and updating of your security protection strategies.
- Workplace Violence Awareness Training is designed to assist your Human Resources team to increase awareness of the possible threat of violence in the workplace and recommends ways to manage this exposure.
