Whether you own a weekend runabout up at the cottage or you are a dedicated mariner with a $1,000,000 mega-yacht, Chubb Insurance helps protect your watercraft far beyond what most other marine markets are able to provide. Our minimum hull value is $5,000.

Consider these advantages with a Chubb Watercraft policy:

Replacement Cost: If your watercraft suffers a total loss, is insured for less than $1,000,000 and is three years of age or less, Chubb will pay for the full replacement cost for a covered loss, even if the amount is greater than the physical damage listed on your policy.

Precautionary Measures: Chubb will pay up to $1500 for the reasonable cost you incur to move your watercraft out of harm’s way from a hurricane, marina fire or other covered peril.

Personal Effects Coverage: Chubb covers your on-board personal effects, and the personal effects of your guests and crew for up to $25,000. No deductible applies to this coverage.

Marine Environmental Damage: If you causes damage to marine habitat through physical contact with the watercraft, Chubb will pay damages your client is legally obligated to pay, up to $10,000.

Uninsured Boaters Protection: Chubb automatically provides a covered person with up to $500,000 in damages for bodily injury sustained while on board their watercraft which they are legally entitled to receive from the owner or operator of an uninsured vessel.

Additional Covered Perils: Unlike most other insurance markets, does not exclude losses caused by

• ice & freezing
• mysterious disappearance
• manufacturer’s defects
• mechanical breakdown/faulty repair
• water-skiing
• Chubb has no “lock-dock” warrantee for personal watercrafts like sea-doos.

Coverage for other Boats: Masterpiece Watercraft covers you while you are operating other watercraft and includes physical damage coverage. If you buy another boat, Chubb provides temporary coverage and allows you 30 days to report the purchase.

Search and Rescue: Chubb will pay up to $10,000 for the reasonable expenses incurred for a search-and-rescue operation in the event any person is lost at sea from your watercraft.

Full-Time Paid Crew Liability: Chubb covers the liability of all full-time crew members including the captain – a coverage excluded or restricted by most other markets.

Temporary Watercraft Substitution: Chubb Insurance will also pay for you to charter a temporary substitute watercraft for up to 7 days if your watercraft is out of normal use for more than 10 days due to a covered loss. We don’t want you to miss any of the boating season.
