Out & Equal Significant Achievement Award
Chubb received the prestigious 2003 Significant Achievement Award (or, "Outie") Award from Out & Equal Workplace Advocates
for advancing a safe and equitable workplace for LGBT professionals. The award recognizes Chubb's significant support of its
Gay and Lesbian Employee Network (GLEN) through its provision of sponsorship and executive presence at the company’s first
Gay and Lesbian Leadership Conference, held in conjunction with the 2002 Out & Equal Workplace Summit.
Proponents of the company's first GLEN Leadership Conference actively sought Chubb senior management support for their leadership
conference. They developed and implemented a communications plan to inform senior leaders of the upcoming event and to gain
their commitment to support their staff members' attendance. Chubb's chairman and CEO agreed to deliver the keynote address.
Following the GLEN Leadership Conference, six committees were formed to drive initiatives forward. Committees included: Education,
Visibility, Legislation, Marketing, LGBT Consumer, External Event Sponsorship and LGBT Internal Event Planning.
The "Outie" award was presented to Chubb on October 2, 2003 during the gala dinner at the 13th Annual Out & Equal Workplace
Summit in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Winners were chosen from dozens of nominees that had been narrowed down to 17 finalists
– seven companies, six individuals and four employee resource groups.
