Chubb Updates Technology to Simplify and Customize E&O Applications
Five-Percent Premium Credit Available for Information and Network Technology Clients
WARREN, NJ, August 7, 2006 - The Chubb Group of Insurance Companies has made its online errors and omissions (E&O) insurance application for information
and network technology clients more intuitive and user friendly.
Enhancements to Chubb's E&O SMART Application are based on feedback from customers, agents and brokers who have used the technology. Users said the online application
was easy to use, and they particularly liked that the applications were customized to their businesses. The enhancements include
a simplified "welcome" page and functional and graphic improvements.
E&O SMART Application was launched in 2004 to help agents, brokers and their information and network technology clients save time and money when
applying for E&O insurance. The program creates customized new and renewal E&O applications based on the nature of a company's
operations. The applications can be submitted via the Internet.
"The feedback Chubb received during more than a year of focus groups of agents, brokers and customers was overwhelmingly positive,"
said Tim Ehrhart, vice president, Chubb & Son, and global errors and omissions practice leader for Chubb Commercial Insurance.
"We've taken many of the suggestions and made the E&O SMART Application more intuitive and efficient."
E&O SMART Application provides an online repository for creating, completing, submitting and tracking applications. Throughout the application
process, agents and brokers can communicate in real-time with their clients through a protected Web site, @chubb, eliminating
the need for phone calls, faxes and emails. Because this technology helps Chubb realize a cost savings, a five percent credit
on Chubb's E&O policy premium is available for companies that use SMART Application jointly with their agent or broker.
SMART Application contains the following key features:
-
The Application Wizard - This tool asks select questions related to products, services, contracts and license agreements,
as well as merger, acquisition and subcontractor activities. Based on the responses, the Application Wizard generates customized
applications. This process minimizes the number of questions.
-
Secure Online System - User IDs and passwords protect confidential client information, and the client has the power to "lock"
the application.
-
Renewal Efficiency - To renew E&O insurance, companies only need to update information, such as revenue and loss history.
The SMART Application uses the prior year's responses to complete the application.

The member insurers of the Chubb Group of Insurance Companies form a multi-billion dollar organization providing property
and casualty insurance for personal and commercial customers worldwide through 8,000 independent agents and brokers. Chubb's
global network includes branches and affiliates in North America, Europe, Latin America, Asia and Australia.
