Chubb Canada's CEO Wins McGill Achievement Award

MONTREAL, March 22, 2006 - Ellen Moore, president and CEO of Chubb Insurance Company of Canada, is one of four business leaders to win this year's McGill Management Achievement Award.

Since 1979, McGill University has bestowed its award on business leaders who have benefited the Canadian economy and way of life through their business success and community involvement. The other winners this year include Alain Bellemare, president of Pratt & Whitney; Sheila Fraser, auditor general of Canada; and Daniel Lamarre, president and COO of Cirque du Soleil.

"This year's recipients demonstrate not only obvious business success, but also qualities of entrepreneurship, ethics and social responsibility," said Sakina Baldiwala, president of the 2006 awards program. "Ms. Moore embodies these qualities with her commitment to philanthropy evident throughout the organization, and her focus on innovation, enabling Chubb to maintain its market leadership with the most sophisticated insurance products on the market."

Since joining Chubb in 1977, Moore has held various positions in personal lines underwriting and has managed branches in Connecticut and Washington, DC. While managing Chubb's Canadian operations, Moore also participates on the Board of Governors for Junior Achievement, a nonprofit organization that provides business programs to prepare students for the workforce; the board of the Insurance Bureau of Canada, the national trade association of non-government property and casualty insurers; and the board of CanStage, Canada's largest nonprofit contemporary theatre company. A U.S. native, Moore has also been recognized by Business Insurance magazine as one of the top 100 women executives in the insurance industry.

Chubb Insurance Company of Canada is a wholly owned subsidiary of The Chubb Corporation, a holding company for a family of property and casualty insurance companies informally known as the Chubb Group of Insurance Companies. The multi-billion dollar organization provides property and casualty insurance for personal and commercial customers through 8,000 independent agents and brokers worldwide.
