Claim Employees Strike Multiple Blows to Hunger

Claim employees have struck multiple blows to hunger over six years by raising more than $100,000 before company matches for the Community FoodBank of New Jersey. In 2012 alone, Mid Atlantic zone Claims, Claims home office, Chubb Services and Claims IT employees raised more than $20,000 for the charity. Volunteers assembled 80 gift baskets from contents donated by employees and local merchants, and conducted their sixth Claim Silent Auction in the Warren headquarters atrium. Some individuals also took part in a bike ride through Eastern Pennsylvania, raising $500 apiece in pledges to back their first 30 miles.

"It is inspiring to see the great work done by all who have supported this wonderful cause over the years. Everyone should be honored and proud of what has been accomplished by touching so many people less fortunate than we," says Frank Morelli, Mid Atlantic zone Claims manager.

The nonprofit Community FoodBank of New Jersey fights hunger and poverty by distributing food and groceries, providing education and training, and developing new programs to help people with low incomes meet their basic needs.

Chubb earmarked a portion of its donations to the FoodBank's "BackPack Program," which provides backpacks full of nutritious, kid-friendly food to children who are food insecure over the weekend.
