To handle the broad range of our policyholders' claims effectively, we have developed a staff composed of multi-dimensional claim representatives on the one hand and of specialists on the other.

Our claim experience ranges from handling losses for personal art collections and damage to high-value homes to handling losses at cogeneration plants, construction sites, mineral mines, film production companies, warehouses, hospitals, museums, law firms, zoos, educational institutions, and electronics and other high-tech manufacturers - to name a few. These losses involve a myriad of coverages from fidelity to products liability, from business interruption to automobile physical damage.

Certain claims - due to their unique nature or a policyholders' distinct needs - are the responsibility of teams of specialists. They are devoted exclusively to handling claims in specific insurance disciplines, such as ocean cargo, workers compensation, surety, environmental liability, boiler and machinery, and directors and officers liability. We also have specialists devoted solely to subrogation.

The services of our claim staff members worldwide are constantly evolving to meet new policyholder expectations and changing marketplace demands. These services can include customized programs provided by account coordinators. In addition, we are increasingly involved in loss management services for businesses, whether they are insured through traditional means or through one of the newer alternative risk transfer mechanisms.

We also have specialized claim expertise in specific lines of insurance and a Multinational Claim Unit to handle claim reporting 24 hours a day, seven days a week in more than 140 different languages.  In 2000, 2001, 2002, and 2003, Chubb’s UK claims team was named “Claims Team of the Year” by the Insurance Times.
