Loss Prevention

Chubb’s environmental loss prevention services include insightful analysis and evaluation of potential liabilities. Loss Control specialists survey owned property and nonowned disposal sites, as well as provide recommendations and training to help companies manage environmental exposures. This extra care not only aids in risk assessment and mitigation, but also offers insight into insurance protection requirements. Some examples of our services:

Environmental Management Systems − Our loss control professionals review environmental management systems from beginning to end. We look at issues of health and safety, emergency response and management of waste, among other concerns. We can also provide regulatory analysis to improve compliance and offer consultations on specific issues.

Environmental Multimedia Exposure and Vulnerability Analysis − Our specialists routinely analyze how pollutant sources can impact environmental media. Our knowledge of ecological concerns and issues can be used to predict liabilities associated with natural resource restoration.

Mold Management and Awareness − We can evaluate mold management protocols for property owners and recommend methods to control mold growth. We can also review mold mitigation plans, visit the site and recommend remediation actions.

Technical/Engineering Reviews − Our loss control professionals can gather background information on development property, including industrial sites being redeveloped for another use. We assess potential environmental risks, such as soil and groundwater contamination, the likelihood of release, and the possible damage to receptors. Chubb can also assess the potential for liability associated with nonowned disposal sites. Our knowledge of regulatory programs and their application to a particular pollution incident helps predict potential actions.

Environmental Training − Chubb provides seminars on environmental management systems, compliance with regulatory requirements, and limiting exposure through proper waste product management. We offer Continuing Education Unit (CEU) credits to producers for courses on environmental, insurance coverages and regulatory requirements.
